Over 2.5 thousand children and sports grounds to appear in Kyiv by 2012
Kyiv City Council bids to solve the problem
1670 and 1090 new children and sports grounds respectively are to be built at the expense of the city’s budget in the Ukrainian capital by the year 2012.
This is stipulated in “Children and Sports grounds building on 2009-2012 in Kyiv” draft program supported by the Kyiv City Council Committee for Budget and Social Economic Development, according to the Leonid Chernovetskiy Bloc’s press service.
The construction will require 116 million hryvnias.
Denys Komarnytskiy, chairman of the Chernovetskiy Bloc’s faction in the Kyiv City Council, claimed that deputies and Bloc’s activists drew up a register of children and sports grounds, which must secure them from illegal builders.
According to D.Komarnitskiy, 202 and 17 children and sports grounds respectively have already been reconstructed within the framework of Your House, Your Yard all-city program during the year 2007. However, the overwhelming majority of the grounds must be replaced, while the total number of grounds is still insufficient. He expressed a hope that the respective draft resolution of the Kyiv City Council will enjoy support of all faction members.
