Ukraine harvested 27 mln tonnes of grain

According to the operative data of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy in Ukraine, as of the 16th of August, 27 mln tonnes of grain had been milled in Ukraine against 30 mln tonnes last year, according to APK-Inform. The average yield of grains and legumes totals 2.55 tonnes per hectare. Spring grains and legumes threshed on 10.62 mln ha area (or 87% from the forecast).

      Wheat has been mowed down on 5 mln ha area (89%). Wheat harvest has totaled 13.63 mln tonnes against 18.85 mln tonnes in 2005, average yield - 2.73 tonnes per hectare (3.07 tonnes per hectare last year). Barley has been threshed on 4.82 mln ha. 11.68 mln tonnes of grain have been milled, average yield - 2.42 tonnes per hectare.

      Rape has been mowed down on 307 ha (74%). Rape harvest has totaled 539.000 tonnes, average yield - 1.76 tonnes per hectare against 1.62 tonnes per hectare in 2005.
