President Victor Yushchenko held a phone conversation with President Valdas Adamkus of Lithuania, according to the President`s press-office.
Main subject for discussion during the conversation was situation in Georgia.
Both leaders expressed appreciation of the fact that in conflict regulation Georgia’s territorial integrity has been preserved. The also both spoke for participation of multilateral peacekeeping forces in the process.
President Yushchenko brought President Adamkus up to date on Ukraine’s recent steps regarding regulation of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet activity in our country.
Beside that the two Presidents discussed Euro-Atlantic cooperation. Here President Adamkus informed President Yushchenko about North Atlantic Council meeting, scheduled on August 19.
The two leaders have agreed to continue consultations on conflict settlement in Georgia as well as cooperation’s with regard to results of NATO Council meeting.
