Ukraine to harvest 48.7 mln tonnes of grain in 2008

In 2008, Ukraine will harvest 48,7 mln tonnes of grain, according to an August 23 forecast from the Ministry of Agricultural Policy, according to APK-Inform.

Of this amount, Ukraine needs 26.5 mln tonnes of grain for domestic consumption, including 6 mln tonnes for food. Also, carryover grain stocks will total 5.6 mln tonnes.
