Ukraine to increase coal mining by 4 million tons this year – Tymoshenko
The government has undertaken several serious steps
In the year 2008 Ukraine will increase its coal mining by 4 million tons.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko claimed this speaking at a solemn meeting devoted to opening a groove of the mine named after Izvestiya newspaper of Donbassantratsyt state-owned company in the Luhansk Oblast.
The Prime Minister stressed that over 8 months of the current year, the coal mining in Ukraine has increased by 2.5 million tons compared with the previous showings.
She also claimed that the government has undertaken several serious steps this year to support the coal-mining branch. In particular, the branch financing soared by 25% this year.
