President proposes to channel UAH 5 billion for purchase of new arms

President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko proposes to channel approximately 5 billion hryvnias [~US $1 billion ] from the state budget to buy new arms.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, top deputy Chief of Staff Oleksander Shlapak claimed this to a press conference today.

At year same time, O.Shlapak stressed that next year the security of Ukraine must become one of the priority spheres for financing.
