Victor Yushchenko has returned to Kyiv to mark the fifteenth anniversary of Ukraine’s independence, according to the President’s press-office.
In Kyiv’s Boryspil Airport, the Head of State met with Emergency Minister Viktor Baloha to discuss last hour’s crash of a Russian passenger plane near the village of Sukha Balka, Donetsk oblast. The minister told him they had immediately sent a group of rescuers to the scene to deal with the aftermath of the tragedy and quickly identify bodies. Mr. Baloha added they were helping their Russian colleagues.
