Lists of Holodomor victims to be read at square in Sevastopol
“33 minutes” all-Ukrainian action kicks off
On Saturday, September 6, the first “33 minutes” action devoted to the 75th anniversary of the Holodomor tragedy in Ukraine, will be held in Sevastopol, at a square near the Ukrainian Cultural-Information Center. The action will be held within frames of “33 Minutes” all-Ukrainian project.
According to the Sevastopol City State Administration, representatives of Sevastopol youth organizations, political parties, in particular, Our Ukraine, United Center, Batkivshchyna, and also representatives of “Plast” Ukrainian Scout Organization, the Sevastopol department of the Association of Holodomor Researchers in Ukraine, local residents, are expected to take part in the action.
Within frames of the action, in all regions of Ukraine, representatives of different youth organizations and researchers of Holodomor will meet at weekends near monuments to Holodomor victims, to former leaders of the totalitarian regime, and will read for symbolic 33 minutes the chapters from a regional Memory Book, first of all – the list of local residents who died from the famine and whose names were established by researches and included into the Memory Book.
The action will last from September 6 to November 22 of the current year. The final stage of the actions is to be held at the Mykhaylivska Square in Kyiv.
