Ukraine and the European Union agreed that the new enhanced agreement will be called “Association Agreement”.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, he claimed this at a joint press conference with President of France Nicholas Sarkozy and European Commission head Jose Manuel Barroso in Paris Tuesday, after the 12th Ukraine-EU Summit.

Victor Yushchenko recalled that the similar agreements were signed by EU with other countries of the central and eastern Europe, which later became full-fledge EU members.

According to the Ukrainian President, “we are satisfied with this ambition and with the dynamics of the joint work”.

Victor Yushchenko disclosed that the new enhanced agreement will consist of 4 chapters. According to him, the chapter on policy and security “has almost been completed”. Besides, he added, legal aspects are being worked out, including those connected with the visa policy.

Victor Yushchenko pointed out a large attention will be paid to the collaboration in different branches.

According to him, a large attention was also paid to creating a free trade zone between Ukraine and the European Union. “We are in an optimistic vein”, he said. Victor Yushchenko expressed a belief that in 2009 “we will see this new document signed”.
