At his press conference in Cherkasy region President Victor Yushchenko said that he expects the Government to put more efforts into maintaining economic stability in the country, according to the President`s press-office.
“If the authorities don`t understand that stability of first of all prices and money is the basis for economic growth, these authorities would never be able to bring economic progress to the country”, - he said.
President also stressed that in 2009 inflation should be brought down to one-unit number.
Among priorities for the next year budget President named effective privatization, affordable accommodation program implementation, increasing financing of the army, improvement of social standards for budget-dependent society strata, etc.
