On Wednesday, vehicles were so obstructed in Kyiv that they could scarcely move. Traffic jams were recorded not only in traditional regions like Moskovska Square, Paton Bridge, or Artema Street, but also in small streets where cars usually appear once in a half-hour.

As a rule, in case of big traffic jams, Kyiv residents travel by subway. However, yesterday the Kyiv subway could not cope with the big flow of passengers and also faced “live” congestions.

On the whole, on Wednesday, around 1100 traffic accidents were recorded in Ukraine, out of them 400 happened only in Kyiv. According to Kyiv Traffic Police Department spokesman Yevhen Anatoliyovych, as early as several years ago, around 100 traffic accidents a day were registered in Kyiv. As of today, an average number of traffic accidents has soared to 300.
