The government of Ukraine calculates the macroeconomic forecasts for the year 2007, basing on the gas price at $135 for a thousand cubic meters of gas at the border of Ukraine.
Top Deputy Prime Minister, Finance Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov disclosed this in an interview to “Profile” magazine.
According to him, they took as a basis the optimistic variant of developments.
M.Azarov stressed that should the gas be supplied to Ukraine at a price, lower than $135 for a thousand cubic meters, the money from the stabilizing fund will be channeled for financing investment projects.
“Actually, the situation may be worse, but it also may be better”, M.Azarov said. “Should the gas price appear to be higher, the Cabinet of Ministers will be prepared to that: a stabilizing fund at some 3 billion hryvnias is stipulated in the budget”.
