Secretary of the Ukrainian National Security and Defence Council Raisa Bogatyryova will visit Moscow to prepare a meeting of the Ukrainian-Russian intergovernmental commission, she said on the Freedom of Speech programme of the ICTV television channel on Tuesday, Itar-Tass reported.

According to her, “The visit of the Security Council secretary to Russia is being prepared in order to hold a meeting of the interstate commission in the short run. This work is being carried out consistently.” She noted that the issues that were seemingly impossible to settle between the two countries will be analysed by experts and “prepared for discussion by the heads of state.”

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said earlier that the people of Russia and Ukraine are inseparably linked by genuinely fraternal relations and special feelings of respect and mutual confidence, as he received credential from a group of twelve foreign ambassadors. Ukraine’s newly-appointed ambassador was among them.
