Yanukovych to make Russian the second state language
This is stipulated in the government`s program
The program of activities of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine for the years 2006-2011 stipulates declaring Russian the second state language.
This is said in the draft program, which was given to journalists at a session of the Cabinet of Ministers today.
In particular, the chapter devoted to the humanitarian policy reads that the government will direct its activities "towards defending the freedom of choosing language of communication and education, and towards declaring Russian the second state language in Ukraine”.
