In front of the Presidential Secretariat in Kyiv President Victor Yushchenko and his wife Kateryna Yushchenko welcomed King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden in Ukraine, who came to our country with a state visit, according to the President`s press-office.
The officials reviewed the guards’ of honor parade, heard national anthems of the two states and a 21-round artillery volley, symbolizing friendly intentions of the sides.
Also the two delegations were introduced to each other. Ukraine is represented in the visit by Foreign Minister Volodymyr Ohryzko, Minister for Culture Vasyl Vovkun, Minister for Justice Mykola Onishchuk, Presidential Secretariat deputy Chief of Staff Andrii Goncharuk.
After the ceremony the two Heads of States with their wives went into Horodetsky House for a meeting.
