The Traffic Police Department of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine will launch a large-scale prophylactic operation on country’s highways in several weeks.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, Interior Minister of Ukraine Yuri Lutsenko claimed this at a meeting with police employees in Uzhhorod on Wednesday.
As UNIAN reported earlier, traffic police already carried out a similar operation in Ukraine during January 10 – February 10 of 2008. During the special operation, more than 40 thousand cases of drunk driving were recorded, and 34 thousand 569 people were deprived of driving licenses.
