Leshchenko includes controversial flat in income declaration
Member of Parliament from the Petro Poroshenko Bloc Serhiy Leshchenko, who has earlier found himself in the center of a real-estate-related scandal, has included his large Kyiv-based flat worth some UAH 7.5 million in an assets declaration.
Information about the acquisition of the flat was added to the income section of his declaration in the register of the National Agency for Prevention of Corruption (NAPC).
According to the document, Leshchenko acquired the flat on September 6 from Industrial Investment LLC asset management company. Its area is 192,000 square meters, the price was UAH 7.55 million, but now its value is estimated at UAH 5.296 million.

On September 7, First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada's regulation committee Pavlo Pinzenyk said that he demanded that the National Anti-corruption Bureau (NABU) probe into the situation with the acquisition of the expensive flat by Leshchenko, as it "goes about the Ukrainian parliament's reputation."
Later, Leshchenko himself called on NABU and NAPC to verify the acquisition. He claims that the money paid for the flat is legal and the acquisition did not violate any anti-corruption laws of Ukraine.
