Ukraine submits 'Illusion' for Oscar race
Based on a book by countrys deputy prime minister
The movie “Illusion of Fear” by Alexander Kyriyenko will be Ukraine’s entry in the best foreign language film Oscar race, The Hollywood Reporter informed.
“Illusion” is based on a book by Alexander Turchynov, the country’s deputy prime minister and formerly head of the Security Service of Ukraine, and tells a story of an entrepreneur who tries to save his business during a difficult period in the 1990s.
Several well-known Ukrainian and Russian actors feature in the movie, which was released in Ukraine last month.
