Rada calls OSCE, Council of Europe to respond to Ukraine journalist's detention
First Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada and Ukraine's envoy to the Trilateral Contact Group's humanitarian subgroup on the Donbas settlement Iryna Gerashchenko insists on appropriate reaction from the OSCE, the Council of Europe and other international organizations to the detention of a Ukrainian journalist, Roman Sushchenko, who has been detained in Russia on charges of espionage.
"I'm shocked by the news of the arrest of Ukrainian journalist Roman Sushchenko in Russia. He works as a reporter for Ukrinform [Ukrainian-based state-run news agency] in France, and we have very often met during business trips. He is a smart and professional journalist," she wrote on Facebook.

"The Ukrainian government demands the immediate release of the journalist," she said.
