Government slows down social payments due to financial crisis – Tymoshenko
The country cannot afford it
The Cabinet of Ministers has intent to slow down social payments due to the global financial crisis.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko claimed this at a meeting with representatives of the economical and financial elites of Ukraine.
“Without any doubt, we stipulate all procedures, which will allow to slow down the expenses that cannot be afforded by the country. Those are rather optimistic social expenses, which we planned earlier”, Yulia Tymoshenko said.
The Prime Minister disclosed that the government refused 49 draft laws, prepared earlier within frames of resisting the world financial crisis, considering the unstable situation in parliament. “We decided to put it all into one draft law, which introduces amendments into several laws simultaneously. And separately – only amendments to the state budget”, Yulia Tymoshenko said.
