President Victor Yushchenko took part in a consultative meeting on implementation of 2008 State Budget that was arranged at State Tax Administration office, according to the President`s press-office.
Opening the meeting President Yushchenko said: “I gathered you all with one aim: to ensure that State Tax Administration, Customs Service and Treasury agreed on a special order of cooperation. We will arrange a methodic today that we will be using for next two to three months”.
According to him main issues in proper implementation of 2008 are large budgetary deficit and insufficient clearance of VAT.
When speaking about the first problem President stressed concerns that budgetary deficit may outgrow that designated by the Government earlier. The need to finance deficit in Pensions Fund out of state budget, according to him, may become one of causes to that. Therefore Victor Yushchenko urged to balancing budgetary incomes and expenses in that field.
Pointing to problems in clearance of VAT debts President suggested establishing a temporary coordinative board that would monitor the process and report on any issues and suspicious activity in that field.
