The highest level of pollution was recorded in Kyiv this autumn at the Bessarabska Square and the Peremohy Avenue near the Svyatoshyn subway station.

According to Khreshchatyk daily (#203), Iryna Kolisnyk, head of the media relations department of the Central Geophysical Observatory at the Emergency Ministry of Ukraine, informed the daily about the expert conclusions.

Observatory experts monthly analyze the level of air and water pollution in the Ukrainian capital, and, besides, study the radioactive situation in detail.

“In September, the highest level of pollution was recorded at the Bessarabska Square and the Peremohy Avenue near the Svyatoshyn subway station. Bad pollution indices were also recorded in the district of the Obolonskiy Avenue and the Dovzhenko Street”, I.Kolisnyk informed. She also listed the Lessia Ukrayinka Boulevard, Strazheska, Sklyarenka, and Kaunaska streets among the most polluted.

According to the experts, they analyzed 6 thousand 176 samples of air in a special laboratory. I.Kolisnyk stressed that cars remain the main source of air pollution in Kyiv.

As for clean territories, according to the experts, the cleanest are Expocenter territory, the island of Hydropark, the Lazo street, and the Bahrynova mountain district.
