The Ukraine’s industrial production volumes fell by 19.8% in October of 2008 compared to October of the last year. At the same time, compared to September of 2008, the industrial production fell by 7.6%.

These are the data of the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine.

According to the information of the Committee, the industrial production volumes in October of 2008 fell most of all in the following branches: extractive industry – 10%, mining operations – 20.6%, mining fuel-energy minerals – 0.2%.

The processing industry production volumes fell by 21.1% in October of 2008 compared to October of 2007; the light industry production volumes fell by 6.3%, wood production and procession industry – by 2.8%, chemical and oil-chemical industry – by 19.2%.

According to the information of the State Statistics Committee, in October of 2008, the metallurgy production fell by 35.6% compared to October of 2007.
