Ukraine border guards prevent smuggling of military-purpose lamps from Moldova

State border guards in Chernihiv region prevented the smuggling into Ukraine of 12 missile lamps, the press service of the Chernihiv border guard unit reported.

Last night, the Chernihiv unit border guards operating together with the fiscal service officers at Senkivka border checkpoint discovered 12 lamps for military purpose in a bus heading to Ukraine, according to the report. It was a regular bus with the Moldovan registration. Upon thorough inspection of the vehicle, Ukrainian law enforcers found a wooden box with 12 lamps in the luggage compartment, which may be suitable for use in optronic countermeasure devices of missile weapons.

The lamps were seized for further examination. The incident was reported to employees of the Security Service of Ukraine in Chernihiv region.
