A snap poll may take place if the government will not base upon a parliamentary majority, President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko told Ukraine`s ICTV TV channel late on Monday.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, at the same time Victor Yushchenko stressed that, at present, in December, due to international and domestic economic crisis, it’s difficult to speak about elections. “This is not reasonable”, the President said, adding that at first it is necessary to find an answer to challenges of the economic crisis.
“Without it, we have no right to allow lawmakers even go on holidays”, Victor Yushchenko emphasized.
He added that this month the parliament has to adopt the state budget-2009, amendments to the draft anti-crisis legislation, and, probably, carry out judicial and tax reforms.
