Ukraine, in fact, received MAP – FM Ohryzko
We got the result that we wanted?
Foreign Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Ohryzko claims that Ukraine, in fact, received a NATO Membership Action Plan.
According to an UNIAN’s own correspondent to Brussels, he claimed this to journalists on Wednesday, before beginning the NATO-Ukraine Commission session.
“At this stage, we got the result that we wanted”, V.Ohryzko said. “Today we de-facto received an Action Plan on preparing to enter NATO”, the minister added.
He stressed that MAP stipulates preparing annual national programs, which will be worked out by Ukraine and NATO after the Alliance made decision to develop relations with Ukraine.
“Since the year 2009 we will begin, in fact, integrate with the Alliance”, the Minister noted.
As UNIAN reported earlier, NATO foreign ministers on Tuesday agreed to allow Ukraine and Georgia to develop national programs on annual basis, an arrangement similar to that of MAP.
