President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko asks not to politicize the work of the central bank and the Finance Ministry of Ukraine.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, he said this at a meeting with Verkhovna Rada Speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn on Thursday.
Victor Yushchenko stressed that today “very many politicians criticize the work of the central bank and the Finance Ministry of Ukraine”.
Victor Yushchenko pointed out that everybody should understand that c.bank cannot establish the exchange rate without taking into account the market tendencies.
“The c.bank may just photograph the situation”, Victor Yushchenko said, stressing once again that the situation with the hryvnia exchange rate is of “psychological character”.
Victor Yushchenko asked V.Lytvyn to restrict “hot statements” about the work of the Finance Ministry and the central bank, because such statements may cause even bigger economic losses.
