SBU seizes certificates for 400 kg of gold from officials of one of Ukraine’s agriholdings
The SBU Security Service of Ukraine in a massive raid have seized 60 kg worth of gold bars and gold certificates for 400 kg of gold at the premises of the officials of one of Ukraine’s agricultural holdings.
In the framework of criminal proceedings under Part 4 Art. 190 of the Criminal Procedural Code of Ukraine into the seizure by a managing partner of one of the largest agricultural holdings of part of the property, owned by another partner, the Security Service of Ukraine together with the prosecutor's office carried out a number of searches.
U.S., Canada, EU hail Ukraine's anti-corruption achievementsThe investigation targeted the offices of companies belonging to the holding structure and places of residence of the company officials involved in illegal activities.
"During the searches, law enforcers seized nearly $390,000 and EUR 10,000 in cash, 60 kg of gold bars, and gold certificates for gold (grade 999.9) worth 400 kg, as well as documents and materials confirming the illegal activities of individuals involved in the case," the statement reads.
Five officials of the agricultural holding are now suspects on charges under Part 5, Art. 191 (seizure of property through abuse of power) of the Criminal Procedural Code of Ukraine.
Investigative actions are underway.
