Gazprom and Naftogaz of Ukraine are expected to resume their talks over the Ukrainian gas debt settlement after Naftogaz of Ukraine`s head Oleg Dubina arrives in Moscow today, said Sergei Kupriyanov, official spokesman for the Russian gas holding, RBC reported.
Naftogaz of Ukraine`s gas debt under a contract with RosUkrEnergo amounts to $428m for September 2008, $798.6m for October 2008, and $835m for November 2008. In addition, fines and penalties that have built up since March 2008 have reached $350m. Gas deliveries planned for December are estimated at $862.3m, hiking Naftogaz`s total debt as of December 2008 up to just over $3bn.
