With regard to the tragic disaster in Yevpatoriya of December 24, President Victor Yushchenko signed a Decree announcing December 26 the Day of national mourning, according to the President`s press-office.

As UNIAN reported earlier, nineteen people, including a child, have died after an explosion tore through an apartment building in southern Ukraine. The Wednesday evening blast leveled part of the five-floor building in the city of Yevpatoriya, a Crimea peninsula resort. 35 apartments were destroyed. 21 people have been rescued, five of them have been hospitalized.
