Victor Yushchenko has written a letter to Verkhovna Rada Speaker Oleksandr Moroz with a request to send him a recently approved law on the moratorium to raise gas, water, electricity and transport prices. According to the President`s press-office, 340 parliamentarians constitutionally re-passed the legislation on September 22 after it had been vetoed by the President.
Mr. Yushchenko is going to sign the law in accordance with article 94 of the Constitution of Ukraine as soon as he receives it from the Verkhovna Rada office.
The Head of State has also asked Chief of Staff Viktor Baloha to postpone his meeting with Ukraine’s governors because the government had not yet discussed the municipal issue. He commissioned Mr. Baloha to meet with governors on September 28, 7 p.m.
