Interior Minister of Ukraine Yuri Lutsenko calls on chiefs of regions police departments to strengthen supervision over the behavior of their subordinates.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, the Minister claimed this in Odessa on Friday.
“It’s high time to strengthen the supervision over subordinates, a particular supervision in every specific case is a time demand”, Yuri Lutsenko said, adding that there have been many cases when ordinary policemen bring to nought all the work of a police station and depict all the Interior Ministry in an unfavorable light.
Besides, the Minister called on to strengthen supervision over the people with previous convictions, because, according to the statistics, 30% of all crimes in Ukraine fall on these people.
“The demand of the year is to supervise this contingent following the best traditions of the Soviet police”, he said.
