President Victor Yushchenko met Wednesday with chairman of the central bank of UkraineVolodymyr Stelmakh, according to the President`s press-office.

At the meeting the situation in banking sector and at currencies market was discussed.

Volodymyr Stelmakh informed Victor Yushchenko that the NBU is holding regular consultative meetings with representatives of commercial banks to coordinate further steps with them. He also said that unfortunately the flow-out of deposits is continuing, which means that depositors still have no confidence in banks.

President Yushchenko from his part insisted that a set of measures aimed at stabilizing banking sector was elaborated. He also pointed to importance of maintaining stable national currency exchange rate.
