Sunflower seeds prices fall to a record low in Ukraine

The avreage prices of plant growing production in Ukraine fell by 46% in January of 2009. According to the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine, at the same, the prices grew by 3% compared to December of 2008.

In January of 2009, Ukraine sold 1.3 million tons of crops, which is by 3 times more than in January of 2008.

In particular, in January of 2009, Ukraine sold 155.8 thousand tons of sunflower seeds, which is by 2.5 times more than in January of 2008. At the same time, the average price of sunflower seeds made up 1 thousand 224.6 hryvnias/ton, which is by 62.1% less compared to January of 2008.
