Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko assures that Russia will take part in modernization and reconstruction of the Ukrainian gas transport system.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, she said this during the visit to Japan, answering the questions of members of Forum of political, business and scientific elites of Japan.
Russia, as a gas supplier, “without any hesitation, will be a participant of modernization and reconstruction of the Ukrainian GTS”, said Yu. Tymoshenko.
Characterizing the declaration among Ukraine, the EU and international financial organizations concerning modernization of the GTS, signed on March 23 in Brussels, Yu. Tymoshenko noted that the GTS, as the EU sees it, “will remain the main gas artery for Europe for many years”. According to her words, it is necessary to modernize and reconstruct the GTS, “and it is necessary to do it urgently”.
