General Electric Co. and MAN Turbo AG are seeking to help upgrade Ukraine’s gas pipeline network, Delo reported, without citing anyone, according to Bloomberg.
Ukrtransgaz, the state-run pipeline operator, wants Ukrainian companies to overhaul the system as foreign equipment is 50 percent more expensive than that used by Ukrainians, the Kyiv-based newspaper said, citing pipeline operation manager Volodymyr Solyanyk.
Tenders to modernize the pipeline system are to be held no earlier than 2010, Delo reported.
