Nearly $1.4 billion of the regular tranche of the International Monetary Fund will be channelled to cover the state budget deficit.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko claimed this to a press conference on Friday.
“A half of the tranche, which is disbursed for Ukraine, may be channelled to the country’s budget, in line with preliminary agreements”, Yulia Tymoshenko said.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the International Monetary Fund mission to Ukraine proposed that the next tranche of the country’s loan be raised to $2.8 billion. The mission is recommending to the Washington-based fund’s board that the second installment of a $16.4 billion loan, originally set at $1.875 billion, be disbursed in the middle of May, Pazarbasioglu told reporters in the capital Kyiv today.
