The decline of Ukraine’s gross domestic product (GDP) made up 25.5% on results of the first quarter of the current year.
According to ING Bank Ukraine analysts’ commentary, forwarded to UNIAN, the GDP dynamics in Q1 was assessed basing on showings of the main economic sectors.
“The showing indicates a slight improvement of the GDP dynamics compared to previous months due to the influence of seasonal as well as specific factors”, analysts noted.
According to them, the agriculture is the only sector of economics that showed growth this year (1.7% during a year in the first quarter of 2009). Experts believe that the agriculture will remain the only growing sector in the economics, at least, by July of the current year. At the same time, they forecast deterioration in agriculture in the second half of 2009 due to a reduction of the harvest expected this year.
