Speed regime for vehicles in Ukrainian cities to be restricted

The speed regime for transport in Ukrainian cities will be limited to 60 km/h.

According to Serhiy Budnyk, deputy head of the State Motor Licensing and Inspection Department of Ukraine, the Cabinet of Ministers at its Wednesday’s session agreed a draft decree on introducing amendments into road laws.

“The Interior Ministry proposed to preserve the speed limit in cities, and to allow the speed at 130 km/h only at highways”, S.Budnyk said.

At the same time, he specified that there is only one road in Ukraine that falls into the category of highways – the Kyiv-Boryspil highway.

In the countryside the speed must not exceed 110 km/h, S.Budnyk added.
