Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko hopes that she will agree the reduction of natural gas volumes bought for Ukraine in 2009 at a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, scheduled for on April 29.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, she said this to journalists in the Kaharlytskiy district of the Kyiv Oblast, where she handed keys from apartments to victims of the Chornobyl catastrophe on Monday.

“We will discuss issues concerning the reduction of natural gas consumption by Ukraine. I’m confident that the consumption plans in the agreement will be corrected”, the Prime Minister stressed, adding that the topic will be discussed at the level of Prime Ministers.

According to her, as of today, the consumption has somehow reduced compared to previous year plans, because the natural gas is saved up, and the industry is not working at full capacity due to the world financial crisis.
