Special group created in Ukraine to study swine flu issues
Tymoshenko believes Ukraine will be reliably protected
A group of specialists has been set up in Ukraine to study issues connected with the swine flu.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko said this to journalists in the Kaharlytskiy district of the Kyiv Oblast, where she handed keys from apartments to victims of the Chornobyl catastrophe on Monday.
“A special group has been formed in Ukraine to thoroughly inspect the situation. At present, scientists are working out approaches to vaccination and defense from such phenomena, and I believe Ukraine will be reliably protected from that”, the Prime Minister pointed out.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the virus in Mexico believed to have killed 103 people — including 22 people whose deaths were confirmed to be from swine flu — and sickened about 1,600.
Dr. Fukuda of the W.H.O. said his agency would decide Tuesday whether to raise the pandemic alert level to 4. Such a move would prompt more travel bans, and the agency has been reluctant historically to take actions that hurt member nations.
