Priority investigative and procedural actions are underway aimed at establishing all circumstances of the criminal offense committed, according to the prosecutor’s office.

"Top priority investigative actions are being carried out, including questioning of eyewitnesses," she wrote. She added that the demining of the affected area has already started, which will allow the SBU investigators to begin a crime scene inspection in the near future and make the necessary tests.

Bulks of 122mm and 125mm shells burst exploded in an open ammo storage area located within the perimeter of a military warehouse (unit A1119) and a massive fire broke out.

According to the State Emergency Service, two people were injured in the incident, with more than 30,000 people having been evacuated from the nearby area.
