Today it`s 63rd anniversary of the capital’s liberation from Nazi occupation

Victor Yushchenko has laid wreaths on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Kyiv’s Glory Park to mark the 63rd anniversary of the capital’s liberation from Nazi occupation, according to the President`s press-office.

      Parliamentary Speaker Oleksandr Moroz, Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych, Kyiv Mayor Leonid Chernovetsky, ministers, members of parliament and WWII veterans attended the event.

      They observed one minute of silence to honor the dead soldiers. The orchestra of the Honor Guard of Ukraine’s Defense Ministry performed Ukraine’s anthem. Six volleys were fired. The Honor Guard officers marched.
