Hrytsenko about prospects of An-70 project.

Defense Minister of Ukraine Anatoliy Hrytsenko is convinced that one should not overestimate the statements of some Russian high officials about lack of prospects of An-70 project.

He disclosed this to journalists in Ankara today, answering the question of an UNIAN correspondent during a meeting with the Turkish National Defense Ministry defense industry department chief.

The Ukrainian Minister is convinced that it is incorrect to raise a question about Russia’s dropping the project. “So far the project has not been dropped”, A.Hrytsenko said, adding: “This collaboration bases on certain bilateral agreements, and the statements of one or, or even three high officials are nothing but statements. Only three persons may speak on behalf of the state – the President, the Prime Minister, and the Defense Minister”.

At the same time, A.Hrytsenko stressed that Ukraine cannot shut its eyes to the fact that the project is developing inefficiently. “We are concerned about it”, he said.
