Orthodox Christians celebrate the Ascension Day

One of the most important Christian holidays

Today, on May 28, Orthodox Christians celebrate the Ascension Day. It is the 40th day after Easter, when the Ascension of Christ into heaven is celebrated. The Ascension is one of twelve the most important Christian holidays, including the Christmas, Easter, Transfiguration, etc.. Traditionally the Ascension Day is celebrated on Thursday.
