Ukrainians began to send more letters

Ukraine’s communication enterprises sent 390.8 million letters in the year 2008, which is by 2.7% more than in 2007.

According to the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine, the number of parcels, money transfers, newspapers and magazines, which were sent by communication enterprises, also increased in the year 2008. Thus, the number of parcels increased by 8.5% - up to 17.8 millions, the number of money transfers and pension payments increased by 5.9% - to 160.2 millions, the number of newspapers and magazines – by 1.2%, up to 1 billion 273 millions.

At the same time, the number of telegrams reduced by 20% in 2008, compared to 2007, and made up 3.2 millions.
