SBU busts human smugglers in EU-bordering Volyn region
A group of Volyn region’s residents, allegedly including local government officials, set up a mechanism for trafficking illegal migrants from Ukraine to the EU countries, as reported by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). According to the SBU operatives, the perpetrators produced fake documents and seals, required for foreign travel to the EU member states.
"The information about the involvement of the chief of the regional office of the State Migration Service and a village council chair in one of the region’s districts is being verified," the SBU reported.

"Fictitious seals were seized as well as blank forms of state and banking institutions and private companies, Ukrainian national passports with traces of fictitious imprints of registration stamps," the report said.
