Police arrested Russian businessman Kurochkin in Kyiv

Russian businessman Maxim Kurochkin, suspected of committing several crimes, was arrested in Boryspil Kyiv airport today by Ukrainian police.

      According to a Kurochkin’s lawyer, he was arrested in line with a ruling of the Holosiyivskiy district court of Kyiv. 

During the nearest 48 hours the court is due to choose the preventive punishment for M.Kurochkin, who is suspected of two cases of extortion.

Before leaving Moscow for Kiev, Kurochkin said in an interview with Ukrainian TV that he would try to settle with Ukrainian business people a conflict around the Ozerka Market, in Dnepropetrovsk. He had received an invitation to visit Kiev from his Ukrainian partners.
