Ukraine sends peacekeepers to Afghanistan

President sign the respective decree

President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko has signed a decree “On sending a peacekeeping personnel of Ukraine to take part in an operation of the International Security Assistance Force in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan”.

According to the decree, Ukraine, being a UN member country, will send a peacekeeping team of up to 10 servicemen.

     According to the President`s press-office, the Cabinet was instructed to take measures to guarantee the fulfillment of the decree.
