The government will increase the financing of the country`s military-industrial complex development programs by 20-25% in 2007.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, Prime Minister Victor Yanukovych said this today paying visit to “Lorta” state-owned plant in Lviv.

“Markets are being re-opened, and we are working to increase the military-industrial complex programs by 20-25% this year”, Victor Yanukovych said.

At the same time, he added that presently the government is working out new directions of the state program for developing the native military-industrial complex.

According to him, a special state commission, headed by Industrial Policy Minister Anatoliy Holovko, is studying the situation at the Ukraine MIC enterprises.

On the results of the commission`s work, the government will outline the priority directions to develop the branch.

Victor Yanukovych stressed that “Lorta” plant is regarded as one of the potential participants of the program, as it is a competitive enterprise.

In particular, the government plans to resume a state order for the enterprise.
